Seattle

Well, the bluest skies I've ever seen have not been in Seattle. We're back in SeaTac this evening and will board the Zaandam noon-ish tomorrow for our 4 PM sailing. The drive up from Oregon was uneventful, other than taking nearly an hour and a half to negotiate the 25 miles of I-205 around Portland. So much for metered on-ramps!

We stopped to eat in a little wide spot south of Olympia called Chehalis at the Kit Carson Family Restaurant. We won't be going back. Our patty melts were char-broiled until the were charcoal; the waitress was inattentive to the point where we wondered if we should go back to the kitchen and cook our own meal. The place seems to be well-loved by the locals, but from our experience, we couldn't tell you why.

Traffic in SeaTac wasn't too bad and we caught our shuttle to the Sleep Inn and are winding down now, so I guess we will next be posting from the ship. Talk to y'all then.
